With a 9-0 record, Arizona’s Mountain Pointe has proved to be one of the best high school football programs in the country.  Their most recent game, played on October 18 against Corona del Sol, was another triumph, as the Pride recorded their second consecutive shutout.

Mountain Pointe got off to their usual strong start, scoring seven touchdowns in the first half.  By the end of the game, the Pride led 63-0 and totaled 389 yards offense, scoring in all nine of their offensive possessions.

Senior quarterback Antonio Hinojosa played perfectly, completing all six of his passes for 199 yards and four touchdowns.  Three of those passes were to senior receiver Jalen Brown, who finished with four receptions, 139 yards, and three touchdowns.

Defensively, Mountain Pointe was excellent.  In the first half, the Pride held Corona to 11 rushing yards in 21 carries and five passing yards in one reception.  The Aztecs finished with only 46 yards of total offense.  Mountain Pointe recorded five sacks and a blocked punt.

This victory moves the Pride up to 7th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings.  Their next and final regular season match is against Dobson on November 1, after a two-week break.
