All of the hard work has paid off for Mountain Pointe as the Pride defeated Dobson 57-3 to conclude their regular season with an undefeated 10-0 record.
Mountain Pointe outscored the Mustangs 43-3 in the first half, dominating Dobson on both sides of the ball. The Pride continued to score in the second half, putting up two more touchdowns and kept Dobson from stirring up any offensive momentum.
The Pride’s attacking power spurred from quarterback Antonio Hinojosa who completed 13 of 17 passes totaling 309 yards and four touchdowns. The senior’s favorite target was receiver Jalen Brown, whom he hit seven times for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
On the ground, Mountain Pointe continued their success with four rushing touchdowns. Hinojosa had one of the scores in his six carries for 30 yards. The other three rushing tallies came from Brandyn Leonard, Paul Lucas, and Wesley Payne.
Their perfect regular season lands the Pride at 8th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings and 1st in Arizona.
Mountain Pointe opens its playoff campaign on November 8 against Boulder Creek in the Arizona Division I Playoffs.
